Just Do It......Killer Instinct

Just Do it... would you ever jump into a 16ft water without knowing swimming? My teacher used to say that there are two ways of learning swimming either you jump into 5ft water and keep floating and keep fearing the water or jump into 16ft water, either you will drown or you will learn swimming :) that's Killer instinct... If you want to learn swimming you got to face the water... and i can vouch for the second method.. it really works.. and that's experience talking mind you :)...

I had tried both methods, with first i was just able to learn floating and with the second i did drown but it made my fear of the water go away... and yes i learned swimming.. but that jump into 16ft water without knowing swimming was a kind of a signal to my instructor that i am serious about learning swimming and i will do whatever he says.. it built a trust and from there it was very easy, learning swimming..

So where does the killer instinct come into picture here, when i knew that there was the instructor who would save me if i drown? Killer instinct was a day before the jump when i refused to jump into 16ft water and i realized that the instructor was not taking me seriously... then i had a talk with myself that this time i have to learn swimming and there is no plan B no giving up and if i had to drown so be it.. and its just matter of conquering your fear... That there is no other option either you do it and give it your 100% or might as well give it up

Sometimes we tell to children that Plan A is there but have a Plan B if Plan A doesn't work but sometimes i think if you have a Plan B you don't give your 100% to Plan A as you already are thinking that Plan A will fail. Some people have the Killer instinct, where they don't think about future or past they just do it. Some people do things first and then think about it and some keep thinking about it. Some people are born with the killer instinct and some people need to build it and I think every body should make use of it atleast once in their lifetime.. It  makes us realize that nothing is impossible and it in so many ways broaden our horizons. A bird in a nest thinks that the nest is his world but when they learn to fly they discover so many new things. Similarly when we learn to overcome our fears we learn so many things about ourselves, about the world.
